Sacraments & Special Services
Baptism
At First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro, we believe in the sacrament of baptism as a sign of God's love and grace. We welcome all who seek to be baptized, whether as infants, children or adults. The sacrament of baptism celebrates the covenant God has made with us, our individual commitment to that covenant, and the support and role the Family of Faith plays in our spiritual journey.
The Lord's Supper
The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, commonly called Communion, celebrates the real presence of God in the life of the Church. At First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro, we offer Communion (the Lord's Supper) the First Sunday of each month, at our Maundy Thursday service, and at our traditional Christmas Eve service. We hope you will join us for this sacred celebration.
Weddings
Marriage is a sacred covenant between two people and God, and at First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro, we are honored to be a part of this special occasion. We offer pre-marital counseling and a beautiful sanctuary for your wedding ceremony. To find out more about weddings at our church, please contact our office or click here.
Funerals
A Christian funeral is a service of worship meant as a witness to the resurrection and a celebration of the life of the deceased. In your time of bereavement, First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro will be here to help. To learn more about our funeral guidelines, contact our office or click here.
Columbarium
The Columbarium at First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro reclaims the historic role of the church as a final resting place for members. Memorial Markers have been provided to memorialize eligible persons whose remains are either scattered within the Columbarium gardens, or buried or scattered elsewhere. For more information, contact our office or click here.
Stewardship
An important aspect of our response to God's grace for us in Jesus Christ is the stewardship of our time, talents, and treasures. There are many different opportunities for members to give of their time and talents in the ministries of First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro.
